FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a streamer to use TipLink Desktop?
Nope!
TipLink Desktop is designed for use with common streaming tools, but you are not required to be a streamer to use this software.
You may require an account with platforms such as Twitch to access supported platforms (e.g. Streamlabs, StreamElements) but you are not required to broadcast on these accounts.
Does my livestream need to be online to receive events?
This is determined by the platform you're using.
Currently Streamlabs and StreamElements do not require your livestream to be online, however, Fansly may have different requirements.
Twitch (direct) integration only emits events under specific circumstances - some may not trigger while you're offline.
How can I view event details to see what failed, and why?
Click the "Inspect" button next to each event to view the raw data, including any processed actions. Refer specifically to the "Results" index for details.
Can I replay an event if I made changes to my Alerts?
Sure! Just click the "Retry" button next to each event you'd like to retry and they'll be automatically queued for processing.
Can I export my Alerts to share with friends?
Sure! Just click "Export Alerts" at the top of your Alerts page, and share the file with the other person. It's recommended to only share this information with people you trust.
Why isn't my license key working?
First, make sure the correct Purchase Platform has been selected in the dropdown provided.
Ensure you copy your license key exactly as it appears in your Product library, without any additional spaces, characters, or symbols. If your license key activation fails, you should see a message explaining why activation has failed.
My events are returning "Failed" or "Partially Failed", what do I do?
Click the "Inspect" button next to each failed event you're concerned about, and expand the results index to see which action failed. From here, check the data and see what went wrong.
The "Retry" button is grayed out in the Events list
When an event has not been processed yet, the Retry button will be grayed out to prevent processing the same event twice.
Once processed, this button will be enabled automatically.
What does "No Alert Match" mean?
When "No Alert Match" is displayed for your Events, this means they didn't match the criteria of any configured Alerts within TipLink.
Here's some things you can try to resolve this:
Ensure all of your alerts have at least one action.
Ensure the conditions in your alerts match the Event data you're checking.
Why are my Test alerts not working?
Some platforms require specific event types to work properly.
